The Fables of the Barren

We first see this collection of dark fables in chapter 1 of Fourth Wing. It is “…a collection of stories that warn readers against the lure of magic, and even demonize dragons…”(Yarros 7) It is especially sentimental to Violet because her father gave it to her. Within the book you can read tales about dark-wielding, red eyed venin and their two-legged dragons called wyvern.
