Tairn’s full name is Tairneanach, son of Murtcuideam and Fiaclanfuil, descended from the cunning Dubhmadinn line. According to Tairn, he chose Violet because she saved Andarna during Threshing. He believes that strength of courage is more important than physical strength. He also acknowledges that Violet is the smartest of her year.
