Riders can communicate telepathically with their bonded dragons. Dragons do not speak to humans they haven’t bonded with. Dragons can read the minds of their riders, and even show them a picture of their perspective through this communication. After Threshing, Tairn uses this skill to show Violet what her new relic looks like, since it’s on her back.
Due to the bond between Violet and Xaden, they are capable of speaking to each other telepathically. This begins with Violet feeling a tingle in her scalp when Xaden is nearby.
People who are deaf of HOH use sign language to communicate. (See Jesinia). Violet knows sign language.
