• Resurrection signet theory: So my first theory revolves around the incident between Naolin, Brennan and Tairn during the Tyrrish Rebellion. Naolin tried using his siphoning signet to resurrect Brennan. According to Professor Kaori in Fourth Wing, no signet is capable of resurrection. As we know with the twist at the end of Fourth Wing, Brennan lived, so is there a way that siphoning (or other signets) can resurrect the dead? I need more details on this incident. (pg. 97-98 Fourth Wing)
• The Barrens: If you’ve spent any time looking at the map or paid attention to the geography listed in chapter 1 of Fourth Wing, you’ve heard of The Barrens. Where else have The Barrens been mentioned? Remember Violet’s book of fables? It’s named The Fables of the Barren. This is where I believe the venin and wyvern originate. Maybe it’s barren because all of the life has been sucked from it by their misuse of power. Remember, when venin channel their power it comes directly from the earth, killing everything alive. In chapter 18 of Fourth Wing, Violet lists off some of the beasts from her book of “fables,” including the obvious wyvern and venin. She also mentions Chimera and Kraken, who I speculate the non-folklore existence of. I wonder if as soon as the riders find efficient ways to kill the wyvern and their venin riders, these other beasts will be introduced. Violet also claims that this book demonizes dragons, which is super interesting to me. Are or were the dragons evil once or currently?
