Fourth Wing: Chapter 18- It’s unclear whether this flashback is just a dream, or a memory of an actual event that occurred. Violet’s father tells her to always check her sources and reminds her that her path is with the scribes, not the riders. He also tells her that the riders are the weapons of the kingdom, but the scribes have all the real power. (Yarros 220)
