Clothing

  • The Riders Quadrant is known for their black uniforms. Flight leathers are only given to riders after they’ve bonded at Threshing. Flight leathers are thicker and more protective than the typical uniforms.
  • Summer uniforms: In chapter 4 of Fourth Wing, cadets and riders are given summer uniforms. These are light weight, tight-fitting tunics and pants.
  • In chapter 1 of Fourth Wing, Mira gives Violet a pair of rubber-bottomed riding boots to help her grip on the parapet. Violet ends up giving a shoe to Rhiannon, which ends up sparking a friendship between the two.
  • Cadets are given fighting leathers for sparring, but most men choose to go shirtless in the sparring gym to prevent their opponent from grabbing their clothes. Women get to choose how they want their leathers cut.
